September 9–12, 2021, Aichi, Japan
October 8–10, 2021, Fukushima, Japan
The goal of the World Robot Summit is to gather the latest technologies from all over the world, overcome some of the toughest challenges, increase people's understanding of robots allowing them to experience and learn about robotics, as well as encourage them to participate in positive discussions.
There are two parts in WRS. The first one is the World Robot Expo (WRE) - an exhibition that presents advanced robots and technologies, allowing the audience to take a look at robots in action today and in the future. The other part of WRS is the World Robot Challenge (WRC). It's a robot competition, in which 4 teams from all over the world vie with one another in 4 categories.
In light of the coronavirus spread worldwide, the 2020 edition of WRS had been postponed and eventually took place in 2021 still maintaining the name “World Robot Summit 2020”.
September 10–12, Kielce, Poland
Annually held in Poland, the European Rover Challenge is the largest international robotics and space event in Europe. It brings together experts in planetary robotics, Mars rover designers as well as representatives of business and science, the sector of new technologies, and the general public interested in the field.
This year’s event took place on 10–12th September and was hosted by the Kielce University of Technology.
During the ERC 2021, participants competed both in the ON-SITE and OFF-SITE formula. This new, hybrid formula of the ERC allowed all willing teams to participate in the competition, regardless of where they were on the globe during the event. Remote control of robots not only leveled the playing field for all participants but also brought the competition even closer to the real working conditions of NASA or ESA teams.
Here, at Leo Rover, we’re proud to announce that as a technical partner, for the second time we supported the OFF-SITE formula of the competition in which the teams remotely connected to Leo Rover and with the use of a special interface were able to perform the same tasks as their fellows from the ON-SITE formula.
